5 Free Gift Ideas for your Wife

Husbands, do you still need a Christmas gift for your wife? Let me share with you 5 free gifts you can bless your wife with that she will LOVE.

1. Alone time. Husbands, your wife needs this. She needs time away from everything: kids, housework, jobs, responsibility, and yes…even you. Take the kids, the chores, and the responsibility for a night and let her get away. Let her unwind at a coffee shop, go shopping, or get her nails done. At first she might even be resistant to leave, fearing the complete collapse of the home, but assure her that you “got this” and insist she go. I promise she will be a better wife and mother for it. Let me add this…husbands do not call every 10 minutes to see when she is coming home…she needs a break!

2. Slide show of pictures. This may take a little time, but I promise it will be one of her favorite things she gets this year. Get your favorite pictures from this year and put them together into a slideshow. Add a sweet sappy love song and then watch it together on Christmas. This thoughtful gift will no doubt earn you some serious “sweet husband” points with your wife. Note: Make sure to have some tissues close by because she will probably be crying through the whole thing.

3. Foot massage. A woman’s feet take a BEATING throughout the day (especially during the busy holidays), from chasing kids, to cooking and cleaning, to standing at a job in heels…her feet need some love! The tension and stress that can be released from this sweet simple act is one way to help your wife relax. Let me say this…it does not count if she has to ask you to do it. In order for this to be a thoughtful gift it must be planned. So husbands, get the lotion ready and rub those feet!

4. Date night in. Start off the night with dinner prepared if you can, or order her favorite food. You can even have your children help as your wait staff. Set the table with candles and have romantic music playing. After the meal, as your children are clearing the table, stand up and ask her to dance. You get to dance with your bride and your children will get to see a sweet picture of your love. You can even keep the dance party going once you put the kids to bed. Head outside to your backyard and blast some of your favorite slow tunes as you dance under the stars (or smog if you live in Houston).

5. Date night out. Plan the date ahead of time. Have the babysitter ready, the reservations made, the day planned. The key is to plan a unique memorable date SHE will like. Instead of going to the movie theatre like you've done a million times, pack a picnic and blanket and go to a free movie in the park. You can even recreate your first date. Get her some flowers and have fun strolling down memory lane as you remember how God brought you two together. Trust me, this is a date she will remember forever!

There you have it husbands, 5 awesome gifts your wife would love to have this Christmas. With each of these gifts you have the opportunity to love and serve your wife. Let this Christmas be a time to love your wife as you bless her with a thoughtful gift.
