Turning the Page

School has started back up, and so has the go, go, go of

everyday life. With our incredibly rushed lives comes

distraction. We are so distracted that we can’t see or

perceive what God is doing in the midst of it all.

And if the busy nature of today isn't enough to distract,

there is also the lingering of the past, preventing us

from effectively turning the page.

Personally, I’m looking forward, trying to think what

goals I should set for myself. However, I still find the past

rearing it’s ugly head at times. It fills my

heart with regret and leaves me feeling overwhelmed.

If you are like me, you can end up dwelling

on the past of goals unmet, feelings that were hurt, and

the list of to-do that never got done. Let me encourage you

with this verse that I am memorizing right now.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up,

do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the

wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

-Isaiah 43:18-19

I love this verse because it reminds

me of all that God has done, is doing, and will do in my life!

He is faithful to do much in yours, and he already has. “Do

you not perceive it?”

If you are struggling to see the working

of the Lord then pray and ask him to make

it clear to you. I pray this prayer often, because

sometimes I am waiting on an answer that He has

already provided, it is just not the answer I was wanting

or expecting.

But he has answered. He has spoken. He has provided. He has moved.

And today, he is doing a new thing, and I don't want to miss it.
