5 Reasons to Take Kids on a Mission Trip


Mission trips can be transformational both for those who serve and those who are served. Why not share this with your children? Why not experience this transformation together as a family? While there are challenges to bringing the entire family on a mission trip, the blessings that follow quickly overshadow the challenges.

Here are 5 of the blessings that come when you take your children on a mission trip:

1. Discipleship. We are called by God to disciple our children and live out the gospel. Taking our children on mission trips give us the perfect opportunity to do that. 2. If the children are believers it teaches them to step out of their comfort zone and share their faith. 3. Mission Trips give the children an opportunity to see God move in other peoples' lives. 4. Children will be able to learn about other cultures, and it can mold their heart for other nations. 5. It shows the children that the gospel has no boundaries, and can reach all people.

  3. What blessings do you think would come if you engaged in Family Missions?

  4. What spiritual gifts are present in your family that could work well together in missions?

  5. What is your prayer for the nations, and how could you lead your household to become a house of prayer for the nations?

  6. Where is God calling you to go as a missionary?
